Client: Maven Enterprises (UPS systems integrator/service provider)
End site: Crown Casino, Melbourne
Completion: November 2025
System supplied: 80 x EnviroX-Cel 155Ah lead carbon front-terminal batteries

Project Overview
Maven Enterprises manages UPS systems for a range of clients, including Crown Casino in Melbourne, where uninterrupted power is critical to gaming floor operations and supporting infrastructure. In November 2025, Maven engaged Valen to supply a battery bank sized to support Crown Casino’s UPS load — the latest project in an ongoing relationship that has also included Valen’s Topin AGM monobloc range.
The Challenge
UPS batteries in this kind of application spend most of their life sitting on standby, then are called on instantly to carry the full load the moment mains power fails. That duty cycle — long periods of partial state of charge followed by sudden high-demand discharge — is exactly the profile that shortens the life of many conventional battery chemistries. For a site like Crown Casino, where UPS failure isn’t an option, Maven needed a battery technology that could handle this pattern reliably over the long term, not just perform well on paper.
The Solution
Valen supplied 80 x EnviroX-Cel 155Ah front-terminal lead carbon batteries. Lead carbon chemistry is particularly well suited to standby/backup duty because it tolerates partial state of charge far better than standard VRLA or AGM technology — the exact condition these batteries sit in for most of their working life. When the UPS calls on them, they’re built to take that sudden demand without the degradation that would compromise a less-suited chemistry over repeated cycles.

Outcome
The battery bank was installed and commissioned at Crown Casino Melbourne, giving the site’s UPS system backup power built for the standby-then-strain reality of critical infrastructure. For Maven Enterprises, it’s another project delivered across their expanding relationship with Valen, spanning multiple battery technologies matched to different parts of their client base’s needs.
