How noisy is a V-Trail?

The system runs silent when operating on solar and battery alone, which is most daylight hours when the array is generating and the battery is charged. The generator only runs when recharging the battery, a defined period rather than a continuous condition.

The generator itself is housed in an aluminium super-silent enclosure rated 66 dBA at 7 metres at full load, comparable to normal conversation at close range and substantially quieter than an unenclosed unit of the same rating.

The practical point: a diesel-only unit operates at its rated noise level for the entire deployment. A hybrid unit operates at its rated level only for the recharge window. This distinction matters in noise-sensitive applications, residential-adjacent works, hospitals, health facilities, accommodation camps, events, and night works under a noise condition.
