The three questions that resolve this quickly: is the site permanent or temporary; what is the peak and surge load in kW; and how long must it run with no generation? V-Trail is the answer when the first answer is “temporary” or “moves”. If the site is permanent, V-Trail is usually the more expensive way to solve a fixed problem. Vantara or ModX2 will be the better fit.
6. FAQ hub rebuild
Page: https://valen.com.au/resources/faqs/ Currently: 21 questions, titled “FAQs Batteries”, organised into two groups (Batteries, Battery Chargers). Entirely lead-acid. No lithium, no solid-state, no front terminal, no systems, no standards, no warranty, no freight, no disposal. Contains one arithmetic error (see 6.2). The existing technical content is sound but the coverage predates most of Valen’s current range. Rebuild to: 58 questions across eight clusters, each cluster mapping to a buyer’s actual decision path, with cross-links to the five product FAQ sets and out to dedicated answer pages.
6.1 Structure: please do not rebuild this as one long page
A single monolithic FAQ page can only rank for one primary intent, and it dilutes every question on it. Three layers work better.
The three-layer structure to build instead:
Layer 1, Product and application page FAQ blocks. Four to eight questions specific to that buying decision, placed in the top half of the page above the specification table. These are the conversion pages. Sections 5 to 9 of this pack are Layer 1.
Layer 2, Dedicated answer pages. One high-value question, one URL, one H1 phrased as the question. These are the pages that earn links and get cited. Recommended build order:
|
Priority |
URL |
Why |
|---|---|---|
|
1 |
/can-you-replace-vrla-with-lithium-in-a-48v-dc-power-system/ |
The most-asked question in the category. Every existing answer online is written for a caravan. Bridges front terminal, SOLiCORE and DC power. |
|
2 |
/saps-vs-network-extension-cost/ |
The exact business case a DNSP asset planner is building. No current commercial answer exists. |
|
3 |
/battery-design-life-vs-service-life/ |
Already exists. Make it the hub for the whole front-terminal cluster and link every design-life answer into it. |
|
4 |
/as-2676-battery-installation-and-maintenance-explained/ |
Australian standards content is unanswerable by offshore competitors. Guaranteed citation territory. |
|
5 |
/what-is-a-front-terminal-battery/ |
Highest informational volume in the range; SERP currently owned by offshore content farms. |
|
6 |
/rail-signalling-power-systems-explained/ |
Built around ARTC ESS-09-02. No supplier has written a plain-English companion to it. |
|
7 |
/how-to-size-a-battery-bank-for-autonomy/ |
Pair with a calculator, link magnet plus lead capture. |
|
8 |
/is-battery-monitoring-worth-the-cost/ |
The objection that stalls these deals. Nobody has published an answer. |
|
9 |
/does-as-nzs-5139-apply-to-my-battery-installation/ |
The most misapplied standard in the market. |
|
10 |
/what-is-a-stand-alone-power-system/ |
Unbranded head term; currently answered only by DNSPs, for landowners. |
Layer 3, this hub page. Its job is not to answer everything. Its job is to be the entry point that routes a searcher to the right answer and to capture the definitional long tail that does not deserve its own URL. That means short answers here and confident links outward.
Two internal linking rules that make the structure work:
- Every Layer 2 answer page links to at least one product page with descriptive anchor text (“Valen’s Vantara stand-alone power system”, not “click here”) and to two or three sibling answer pages.
- Every case study, Queensland Rail, APA Northern Goldfields Interconnect, WA Police radio communications, EnergyAustralia, the remote community project, gets linked from the FAQ answer it proves. “How reliable is a SAPS for mission-critical sites?” answered with a link to the WA Police radio deployment is worth ten paragraphs of assertion.
6.2 What to fix, keep and retire
Fix immediately:
- The arithmetic error. “24V500Ah = 12kWh (120,000kWh’s)”, the parenthetical should read 12,000 Wh. Correct to: “Kilowatt hours (kWh) = Volts × Ampere hours ÷ 1,000. A 24 V 500 Ah battery stores 12,000 Wh, or 12 kWh.”
- “Can Valen batteries be used in cars or bikes?” The current answer says no because those would be wet cell batteries and Valen does not supply wet cell. That is a supply statement dressed as a technical one. Rewrite to explain the actual reason: automotive starting duty requires very high cranking current from a thin-plate design, which is the opposite of what a deep-cycle or standby battery is built for.
- “Which battery type suits heavy mobility scooter users?” Keep it if Valen still sells into mobility. If not retire it, it drags the page’s topical signal toward consumer mobility and away from industrial infrastructure, which actively harms the rest of the page.
Keep and strengthen, this content is genuinely good and underexploited:
The existing answers on C-ratings, sulphation, depth of discharge, over- and under-charging, F1/F2 terminals and charger sizing are technically sound and specific. They are the best content on the site. They need three things: Australian standards references added (the entire page currently cites none), the cycle-life numbers surfaced (the 300-cycles-at-100%-DoD versus 800-cycles-at-30% comparison is buried in an answer about sizing and deserves to be its own question), and restructured into the clusters below so each answer is findable.
Retire:
- The Valen-brand-ladder answer (“What Valen battery products are available?”) as an FAQ. It is a product listing, not a question, and it belongs in navigation. Replace with the genuine version of that question: “Which Valen battery range should I choose?”, a comparison table.
6.3 The rebuilt hub: 58 questions in eight clusters
Format below: question, [for your reference: the search query this targets, do not publish], then the answer to publish. Answers marked → should be published as the short version shown here, with a link to the fuller answer on the page named. Do not duplicate the long answer in both places.
