Built for harsh outdoor sites, Valen’s plinth-mounted Field Cabinet keeps sensitive network, electrical and battery equipment protected, secure and easy to service. It pairs with Valen’s battery and charger solutions for rail, ITS, DNSP, telemetry and remote monitoring applications.

Valen’s plinth-mounted Field Cabinets are designed to house sensitive data networks and electrical equipment for a variety of heavy-duty outdoor applications.
These cabinets complement Valen’s battery and charger solutions to a range of industries, including road and transportation management and remote monitoring.

Features

IP66, IK10 and NEMA 4 rated: Protects equipment from dust, heavy rain, hosing and physical impact, so it holds up in exposed roadside, rail corridor and remote sites.
2.0mm galvanised steel mono-block body: Gives a strong, rigid structure that resists corrosion and keeps its shape for the life of the install.
Epoxy-polyester powder coat, 80 to 120µm (UL approved): Adds a tough, even finish that stands up to UV, weather and wear. Standard colour is T33 Smoke Blue.
Rain hood and sun shield included: Cuts heat build-up and keeps water away from the door seals, which helps extend battery and electronics life in hot Australian conditions.
Front and rear flush-mounted doors: Allows full access from both sides for quicker installs, maintenance and battery changeovers.
Concealed hinges with captive pins and 110° opening: Makes the cabinet harder to tamper with and gives technicians a clear working space.
3-point locking with key-lock swing handles: Secures each door along its full height to deter unauthorised access and vandalism.
Heavy-duty door stays: Holds the doors open in windy conditions so technicians can work safely.
Full-perimeter FIP polyurethane door seals: Creates a consistent, long-lasting seal. Flat sealing surfaces reduce gasket wear over time.
Front and rear 19″ rack rails (1.5mm galvanised steel): Fits standard rack-mounted chargers, network and control gear without custom brackets.
Split gland plates (3.0mm steel base and 3.0mm aluminium): Makes cable entry simple to plan and modify, even after cables are already in place.
Four 125 x 125mm fan/filter cut-outs with removable vent hoods: Ready for active ventilation when the load needs it (IP65 at the cut-outs). Fans and filters sold separately.
Plinth-mounted with lifting eye bolts: Sits securely on a plinth and lifts into position easily on site.
Built to IEC 62208, IEC/EN/AS 60529 and EIA-310-D: Meets recognised enclosure, ingress protection and rack standards, which makes specification and approval easier.
