For valve-regulated lead-acid stationary batteries, the current Australian standards are:
- AS 60896.22:2023, Requirements. Published 8 September 2023. This supersedes AS/NZS 4029.2:2000.
- AS 60896.21:2023, Methods of test.
Valen’s valve-regulated ranges, ENDUROGEL, ENVIROX-CEL, ENVIROX-CELPLUS and TOPIN Front Terminal, comply with AS 60896.22:2023 by manufacturer’s declaration of conformity.
That supersession is worth knowing because AS/NZS 4029.2:2000 is still referenced in a number of live utility and road authority specifications, Main Roads WA Specification 713 among them. If you are responding to a tender that cites AS/NZS 4029.2, the product requirement it intends is now expressed in AS 60896.22:2023, and saying so in your response is usually appreciated rather than pedantic.
